This is my third year with NBA League Pass. I get to watch all the games. This has been educational.
Not all broadcasts are created equal. There are wide variations in the quality of the announcers, the shows, and the signal. For now, I want to call out the signal.
One thing I noticed early on is that all the games broadcast by Fox affiliates looked good. As in, bright and clear. Other regional broadcasts where hit and miss, signal-wise. Some are darker, and fuzzier. The Warriors, fortunately, were a Fox partner. I counted my blessings.
Last year, of course, Comcast bought out the local Fox Sports Net channel in midseason. No problem for the rest of the season, though. Signal stayed bright and clear. Probably still using Fox equipment.
This year, things are different. The signal is darker and fuzzier. At first, I thought it was me, or my tv. But tonight, I watched the regional broadcast of the Mavs/Lakers game just before the Warriors game. No contest. The Mavs had a bright, clear signal. The Warriors obviously have a lesser-quality signal. I don't know anything about tv technology, so I can't tell you why this happens. But it is obvious. And I am sad.
